Loch Lubnaig Creature

Loch Lubnaig Monster

Loch Lubnaig (Lùbnaig means crooked in Gaelic). is a small freshwater loch near Callander in the Scottish Highlands. It is part of the Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

The loch is quite shallow nearly two-thirds being under 50 feet (15 m) in depth. The loch may be considered into two halves, defined  at the entrance of the Ardchillarie burn, where the bottom shallows and separates two principal deep depressions. The deepest part of the loch at 146 feet (45 m) is centrally located in the depression. There are two other depressions in which the depth exceeds 100 feet (30 m).So deep enough to hide a creature. Wild fish in the loch include Salmon, Perch and Brown Trout. So a good food supply.

Many locals believe in the loch monster called Lubhi a smaller distant cousin of Nessie. Eye witnesses claim to have seen small humps appearing on the surface of Loch Lubnaig. It is not unusual to see parked cars in lay-bys with tourists pointing cameras convinced they spotted something on the surface of the loch. The steep mountain slopes add to the magical feel of the loch.

Loch Lomond in the same national park also claims to have a monster.

Loch Lomond is second only to Loch Ness in volume of water. For years there have been reports by residents living near the loch of a strange creature seen in the water. Some eyewitnesses describe the creature as being like the Loch Ness monster, a plesiosaur like creature, others say it looks like a large crocodile. Read rest here:

Could they be the same creature moving overland between lochs in search of food? Or could they be two distinctly separate creatures ,one crocodile like, one humped? What do you think? Comments welcome but please remember all comments go to a moderator so may take time to appear.
