What’s Supersizing Antarctica’s Sea Spiders?

Polar sea spiders grow bigger than their equatorial brethren.

With eight spindly legs, a minimalist body, and long proboscis, sea spiders look like something from the fever dream of an arachnophobic science fiction author. But sea spiders are very real, and they live all over the world. And in the dark, cold waters of the polar oceans, sea spiders grow big, huge—their legs spanning the width of your face.Formally known as pycnogonids, sea spiders are a primitive group of marine arthropods. They’re not technically spiders. Most often, sea spiders are small, cryptic creatures.Yet in the Arctic Ocean and Southern Ocean, sea spiders grow huge. But they’re not the only ones that do. The polar oceans are awash in creatures of unusual size, including copepods, echinoderms, and certain mollusks that grow larger than their more equatorial relatives—a phenomenon called “polar gigantism.”

New sighting of Lake Norman monster?

Park Ranger and Clerk Spot Nessie-Like Creature in North Carolina

Ted Hill, a 42-year-old man who claims to be a park ranger working in the area, told Cryptozoology News he was at Lake Norman on Dec. 21 when he saw the strange animal eating a duck.

“I was looking out for a beach,” said Hill. “Then a duck was yanked under and a huge animal rose up,” he added.
Hill says the sighting lasted about two minutes and that the creature looked like the “Loch Ness Monster”.
“It was smaller, 12 feet long.”

How Nessie might swim?

200-year-old fossil mystery resolved

Scientists have reconstructed how an ancient reptile swam in the oceans at the time of the dinosaurs.Computer simulations suggest the plesiosaur moved through the water like a penguin, using its front limbs as paddles and back limbs for steering.The creature's swimming gait has been a mystery since bones of the first known specimen were dug out of a Dorset cliff 200 years ago.The plesiosaur was discovered by the fossil hunter Mary Anning in 1821.At the time even the name dinosaur had not been invented. A scientific paper unveiling Anning's find a few years later raised the question of how the marine creature swam, given its unusual pairs of wing-like flippers.The debate has continued until today, with a computer simulation based on a Jurassic fossil specimen providing evidence in favour of penguin-like motion.

Chupacabra in California ?

ORANGE COUNTY — A California resident said she saw a “small man-like creature” on Ortega highway 74 and that it attacked a man living in the area.

Amber, who provided a last name but was omitted for anonymity purposes, said she was heading to Lake Elsinore from work when she drove upon the creature back in May.
“It was raining and I turned my brights on,” she told Thomas Marcum. “It was in the middle of the road and turned its body in my direction.”
The small humanoid then reportedly ran across the road and disappeared in the woods. The sighting lasted 10 seconds, she explained.Amber said the creature was about 1 or 2 feet tall and that it was “dark colored like the trees”.

There have been other strange sightings in the county:
“There have been recent reports of the Chupacabra in California, Texas, Miami, and throughout Mexico. One of the first attacks in the U.S. was in Tuscon, Arizona where Billy Nubian's two goats were attacked by a creature in the middle of the night. He described it as a large "ratlike" creature, which when spotted, let out an "unhuman shriek" and ran away.
In Baja California, a dog was found with two puncture marks in the neck. In Miami, there was apparently a bloodbath when 69 farm animals were killed in one night. Throughout the countryside are reports of dead animals with the puncture marks in their necks. Elizabeth Saavedra claimed she was attacked by a chupacabra in the middle of the night.”

So am area of strangeness but as for Chupacabra ,the jury is still out on that one.
