Scottish Monsters, Bigfoot, El Chupacabra all in the news

Six great big scary Scottish beasties

May 15, 2010 by Diane Maclean

Scots have long enjoyed the reputation for being handy in a scrap. But the country doesn’t rely on mere flesh and blood bruisers, oh no. There are tales aplenty of altogether different scary scrapers too and here are just a few of them.

Bigfoot in East Texas

BY BOB BOWMAN, Contributing writer, The Lufkin  Daily news

For years, people have claimed sightings of a large, human-like creature in the thick woods of East Texas. About 500 people recently gathered in Tyler for a Bigfoot Conference to share their personal confrontations with the creature. Speaker Daryl Colyer, who has had an encounter with the beast, said he heard the legends and stories from families when he was growing up Colyer’s own encounter with Bigfoot occurred near the Trinity River in Liberty County. He and his wife were walking along a trail at dusk when they spotted a large, hairy figure with a musky smell. Here are some other sightings of Bigfoot-type creatures in East Texas. In 2003, a motorist spotted an eight-foot creature crossing Texas Highway 154 near Harleton and Little Cypress Bayou. In December of 2001, a deer hunter near Marshall saw a seven-foot upright, ape-like figure that was dark brown in color. The figure was picking up apples. In October of  1995, a man was looking at land he was considering buying near Cleveland  when he saw a creature lying on the ground. The creature rose on two legs and hit the man in the chest Read rest here:

"This happened last night, and I didn't hear a thing."

An older  one you might have missed:

Bigfoot might not be real, but the fascination is

By MARCUS SCHNECK, The Patriot-News January 23, 2010,

Eric Altman is awaiting test results on “some possible hair samples.” Altman is the director of the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society. He collected the samples recently in Clearfield and Jefferson counties, which he described as Pennsylvania’s “hot area” for bigfoot reports. Bigfoot sightings in the midstate are dwarfed by the dozens of reports that have come out of the state’s north-central wilds, Altman said. Adams and York counties provide some reports in “areas that are more remote, a little more wooded,” he said.
